While Account Clearing House (ACH) transactions are preferred by many organizations due to their lower fees, fraudsters also are using ACH to steal identities, take over accounts, and impersonate vendors. As a result, NACHA, the national administrator of the ACH network, is instituting a new rule that will take effect on January 1, 2020, requiring ACH payment originators to use account validation to screen web debits for fraud.
